So my mum says she'll buy me an ipod touch so i stop going on the internet so much. (My parents think I go on the wrong stuff(even though I DON"T) and they don't know how to check the history.) But an Ipod touch does have internet on it and I don't know wether I should tell them that. If I do they'll put a password on it. And if I lie and say no and then they find out later they'll think that I don't even know what an Ipod is and they wasted their money on me. Or I could tell them that my sister has already put a password for the internet. What shall I do?My parents don't trust me with the internet?
Just get the iPod and use the internet on there. Sometimes parents are idiots and you have to do your own thing so you can live the life you want. If you can outsmart your parents I say go for it, just make sure you have a good lie if you get caught that does involve other people so you don't get someone else in trouble. Even if you do get caugh sooo what you had fun. It I'd better to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

I totally respect parents who take the trouble to set filters so little kids don't accidentally see some things. But I also think that by the time a person knows about something, is curious about it and wants to learn more - they should have access to it.
You don't say how old you are . . . . . if you're 10, learn how to set the filters and show your parents that you can't access the bad stuff. If you're 16 and your parents are totally out-of-touch I wouldn't tell them.
It's a crazy world: most parents don't care or won't take the trouble to learn how to protect little kids from crap, but the library associations are all for giving everyone at the public library access to anything - regardless of parents' wishes. At my school I had a paper due for my grief course and the school computer filters wouldn't let me access the info I needed - but we can look at porn because it would be "censorship" if they blocked it. Go figure.
