I have win xp sp3 - I have called the server and he always says its at my end, well the other day I had a friend here, he scanned and chk my system..I put the old modem back into the line and it started to run like never b/4. This morning same ips address as the day b/4 and its slow again.. says bad connection.bull if it was running yesterday great then it shud still be running today. Is it my server that throttling the line (hes say NO) A tech man will charge $100. to find what?? Nothing.. Any help would be appreciated. 1 desktop wi-fi, 1 laptop wi-fi, 1 laptop cabled to router.. all the same problem.Why my internet DSL is so slow?

Internet browser wont connect to internet help plz!?
Just bought a new router and all devices/ computers running on wireless work. The wired computer which was used to setup the router says its connected to the internet but the browsers and programs cant connect. I tried winsock reset and checked internet options. I dont know what to do now.Any help is appreciated. ThanksInternet browser wont connect to internet help plz!?

What are common causes of upload bandwidth on your internet bill?
Moved out in my own place, got Internet so am now more aware of how much I use the Internet. This month however I've seen giant upload usages that has pushed my bandwidth almost 150% of my monthly limit.
I'm wondering if anyone has any instructions on how to set your computers limit of now much upload bandwidth you send.

I need help remembering a book...?
I read a book a while back and I can't remember the title for the life of me! Please please help before I go insane...
-I think it took place at a school for gifted children.
-A boy attempts suicide by slitting his wrists.
-They have a test to get into the school. The boy is such a genius that he does the easy problems while solving the harder problems at the same time. He is really upset that he does not finish the test, but apparently the test is impossible to finish in the time allotted. He did better than anyone.
-The school, for whatever reason, wants to experiment with brains, and not just any sort of brains, these genius kids' brains.
-They take some willing kids. They stage different deaths for them. Then they keep their brains.
-They really want one girl for some reason. But she does not want any part of it. However, they take her against her will.
-The brains are connected to computers. So they are able to download information.
-The girl is really pissed off that they did what they did. She has a tantrum...if you can imagine that with just a brain...she is so furious that she downloads a bunch of information...way more than any brain has done
-The school's experiment backfires because the girl becomes mad with power and basically takes over the internet
-The boy she likes, who liked her initially, I think, starts to get freaked out.
-At the end, his mom buys him a computer, but the girl shows up on it. And I believe he turned it off.
I might have gotten some of the facts mixed up, but this is the gist of it. Google has been absolutely no help...and I tried to look through the library catalog, but that proved to be really impractical.

So, i live in a house there is 3 of us. Me and my girlfriend, and my flatmate who has her own room with ensuite.
my flatmate pays one third of the rent, and i pay double as my girlfriend lives with me.
My flatmate has a boyfriend who is here 5 days a week, he eats, sleeps and showers here etc, goes on the internet. Is it unreasonable for me to ask the rent to be halfed right down the middle, as i pay double as i have a partner who stays here, or am i just complaining to much.
I havent said anything yet, because shes my uni mate, and i dont want to make things awkward, i just feel that its unfair that i pay two thirds of the rent so my girl can live here, and her bf basicaly lives here too.

TALKTALK Internet Issues! Going Off Every 10 Minutes!?
We have TALKTALK internet and it goes off what seems 10 times a day! They are in consistent periods so sometimes it can be on for an hour and go off and sometimes it can be on for 10 minutes and go off.

It then requires a restart of the router. This is annoying because I lose connection on the xbox whilst in game which is rediculous...

At 9pm every night my internet stops loading pages and I get an SSL certificate error?
For the past 5 days my laptop has been doing this every night starting 9pm, and doesn't start working properly again until the following morning. I have system restored my laptop to factory condition yet it's still happening. I rang my internet provider (BT) but they were of no help as they said it's a problem with my laptop, despite me system restoring it.
The internet remains on, but pages take too long to load and some pages e.g. Twitter.com, don't load at all and give me a security message regarding an 'SSL certificate error', it doesn't let me 'proceed to the website' either.
What's happened? :(At 9pm every night my internet stops loading pages and I get an SSL certificate error?

The internet remains on, but pages take too long to load and some pages e.g. Twitter.com, don't load at all and give me a security message regarding an 'SSL certificate error', it doesn't let me 'proceed to the website' either.
What's happened? :(At 9pm every night my internet stops loading pages and I get an SSL certificate error?

I am a 14-year-old boy. I remember my mom telling me that I used to kill crabs at the beach to see what they look like on the inside when I was two or three years old. When I was seven or eight years old, I was accidentally exposed to pornography on the Internet, but I enjoyed it, which is strange considering my age at the time. Since I was 13, I have had an obsession with serial killers. I have documentaries on Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Jack The Ripper, David Berkowitz, Albert Fish, Edmund Kemper, Andrei Chikatilo, and more.
I also regularly visit a website called Best Gore. It has pictures and videos of things like crime scenes of murderers' victims, Iraq War combat footage, executions, and car accidents. The only fake picture on the website is the image they use in the website's header. I have noticed that many people on the website claim that they get themselves drunk before going on it so that they don't vomit or have nightmares, but I don't have any reaction to things like this at all. It doesn't really affect me in any way.
I also seem to have no real emotions besides happiness and anger. Last year, for example, I remember my mom telling me that my cousin had just died in a motorcycle accident, but I didn't feel anything. I put my head down and pretended to cry. Whenever someone insults me or wrongs me in the slightest, I get extremely angry about it and feel like I have to get them back in some way.
I have told countless lies. I am also unable to feel guilt for it, either.Am I a potential serial killer? Am I a psychopath/sociopath?

this does sound abit odd... dont worry bout not being screamish... some people just arent that way!... maybe go to the doctors and see what he/she says.. some of the things are slightly worrying! ... get to the doctors before you do something you regret!Am I a potential serial killer? You probably just go through a phase when you find certain things interesting (dissecting, gore movies like zombies or vampires).
It is probably too much TV or computer games, in some way.
Many kids have that kind of curiosity when young (especially boys). They do strange things like that out of boredom.
When you grow older, you will find more important things to focus on (a career, a skill etc).
I would highly suggest that you join a sport team, spending hours on it. In that way, you build a skill, meet some friends with same interest, get trained to have a stronger mental and physical strength.
You are the only person who can determine this.

Please give some advice...how to get over past mistakes and bad choices?
It's embarassing that I have resorted to asking strangers about how to get over this stuff, but i am not comfortable talking about it with even my closest friends. so about this time last year i was having problems with my boyfriend and started experimenting with drugs, never got heavily into it or did it weekend but still drugs are bad haha. i ended up frequenting a bar where i was introduced to a dealer who of course, gave me free drugs cause im a girl. anyway long story short, i messed around with him once when i was still dating my boyfriend, and felt AWFUL about it. then we broke up and i had sex with this guy a couple times, and somehow i even let him take pictures of me and a video of us having sex. for some reason i trusted him, i dont know why. i have never seen these pictures and who knows, maybe they are on the internet but whatever. i normally would NEVER do this kind of stuff, i have no idea how he got me to do these things, might have just been the drugs or him making me feel good. i have a mutual friend who confided in me that she did the same thing with this guy, and has told me she feels the same way. he is just a manipulator and i never saw it. the thing is, i am back with my boyfriend, and have never told him about what happened. i wouldn't say it bothers me he doesn't know, even though we have talked about the guy and has said he doesn't like him and the fact that he takes advantage of girls he gives drugs too (me!). however, i think about the fact almost everyday i had sex with this person, and allowed him to take those pictures of me and such. i'm not that kind of person at all! for some reason i think about it daily and i feel sick, or when it pops in my head i'm just like "uggh i cannot believe i really did that". only about 3 people know about it all, and i would NEVER do anything like it again. any ideas on how to get over it or stop feeling so guilty?Please give some advice...how to get over past mistakes and bad choices?

How to design a website that has the ability to access a database?
I'm working on a project and i need to design a websites with ability to access information on the database i created using mysql workbench 5.2 CE and using PHP has the programming language in designing my website. However that camera appears to be the same thing as the Jazz HD camera they are selling at Walmart for $30 new. They sell these under several different off brands and they are good enough for most consumer purposes for the price. But it's kind of stupid to record stuff off your tv with a camera and it's not going to look very good. If you have one of those tvs that aren't flat screened it will have lines moving up and down it when you record it with a video camera.How good is this camera?

My internet connection wont let me use Facebook properly?
I just moved into a new place and found that my internet has been kind of odd from the start. I can log into facebook and read things, but if I click on nearly any profile, it tells me it has been marked as unsafe and Malware. If I try and post ANYTHING as a status or a link, it tells me it contains an unsafe link to spam. Also I can't read my messages as they wont load. A friend came over and had the sane issue on their computer and also Ipod touch. Any ideas what the hell? I ran a full virus check and system sweep and there's nothing there.
I went and used public WiFi to try it out and my Facebook works fine, its simply when I'm using it with my internet connection at home.

I just read on the internet that Argentina are yet again kicking off over the fact that they don't have the falklands and the British do. Apparently, we're willing to give it back, but the citizens don't want to go to Argentina and would rather be British. Is that true?

When Thatcher, the then British PM, was in serious political and economic difficulties at home, she went to war with Argentina in order to divert attention from problems in the UK. You need to ask will Argentina go to war. The UK will wait, Argentina are not really in a state to start anything. They are creating a fuss to get attention and want the oil in the area. The British Islanders will be forced off if Argentina ever take control.

So there you have it, the first person to set foot on the Fawklands - British. First claim - British. And despite all the pissing in between by the French, Spanish and then for some reason Argentines. The Islanders speak English, are British and want to remain part of the UK.

The British claim seems to extend to little more than "well, we didn't know someone else was here when we got here, but we're British so we should still have it anyway".

Healing unhealthy/knotted muscle tissue?
I figured I'd ask on here and see if anybody knew anything. I grind my teeth a lot at night and have symptoms similar to TMJ disorder. A dentist specializing in this x-rayed my jaw joints and said nothing was wrong with them. He made me a mouth guard to sleep in and told me to exercise and work on stress management. I do at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise a day and I just bought a book that showed me a few stretches for my head/back/neck muscles. Shoulder rolls, shrugs, head roll, stuff like that. I do them every day now. I eat really, really well. Veggies, meat, fruits, rice (allergic to wheat) rarely any sugar at all. I also read about a lot of vitamins that can help with muscles or are linked to TMJ disorders so I've been taking them religiously for about a year now. Calcuim, magnesium, zinc, vitamin B, E, multivitamin are a few of them. I got deep tissue massage for about 6 months but it got too expensive with minimal results. The massage worked mainly on my trapezius, temporalis, and medial and lateral pterygoids. The lateral pterygoids were terrible to the point where tears would stream out of my eye on whichever side was being worked. It actually made me feel better but only until I sat up. Honestly, it was very painful. I suspect that I was only in less pain after that because it was relative to the pain of actually getting the massage.
So, that's what I'm working with. This stuff is very painful and I have been constantly in pain for the past 3 years. I've gotten away from researching online. The forums seem to be a bunch of depressed people with hopeless stories and most of the cures just seem to be scams that don't fix anything, feeding on desperate people. You never know what to trust and what is a line of crap. Problem with the internet I guess. I know this much. I grind my teeth a lot at night and I have no way to stop it. I chewed half way through my first mouth guard in 3 weeks. Having said that, I know my muscles and joints are in terrible shape and that's what I want to work on. My joints across my whole body click and a lot of my muscles buckle, especially my traps when I nod my head. Probably the worst are my sternocleidomastoids, which were never worked on at massage. I'm a little frustrated at this point. I feel like I take really good care of my body and I've done everything I can. There's no excuse for this going on but it still does. I think I need to try doing something with these muscles next. The massage people told me about knots and unhealthy tissue that doesn't get enough blood flow. They compared it to tennis arm. I'm pretty sure that's my problem but I don't know how to address it other than the massage that didn't work. Injections, weight training, something but I have no idea what to do. Can somebody that knows about muscle health point me in the right direction?Healing unhealthy/knotted muscle tissue?

It's probably not the one I would pick, but it's likely better than being dealt with in an ineffective fashion. Then you can learn to do self-massage of your masster, and the masseter stretch. Hi guys. I'm 13( turning 14 in a month). Since the early days of my childhood not like others I wasn't scared of blood. In fact I actually liked it. My friend too used to drink his blood when he gets wounded, but he said it tasted like ****. I actually liked the taste of blood. It was somewhat of a reward for getting wounded. Well I was going around the internet forums and saw a thread called "My sister is a vampire". I thought it was stupid, but I did some research and found out that there are real vampires. I'm prone to migrene and I get quite alot of headaches. I remember the summer as a never ending headache. I keep having headaches often(it's winter here and we don't see sun much at this time of year). Some of my senses are notably good. I was noticed by alot of people that I have an exceptional hearing. At day time I feel a little bit ill and so the illness sometimes progresses into a migrene. So today I woke up feeling a thirst. I started to drink water, but it wont fade away. That reminded the thirst I had when I was 11. I was so thirsty that even swallowing my saliva was painful. My mom noticed that and asked me what was going on. I said that I had a thirst that wont fade away. Being a doctor she said that salty food could bring such a thirst, but we never eat that kind of food so then she came with another hypothesis that I might have a diabetes because the thirst is one of the first symptoms of the disease. So we would go and check my sugar in the blood in a few days. So am I an awakening vampire or am I just some kind of guy that just thinks he's one? Please don't answer me with some dumb questions like they don't exist or else you'll be reported. I just read on the internet that Argentina are yet again kicking off over the fact that they don't have the falklands and the British do. Apparently, we're willing to give it back, but the citizens don't want to go to Argentina and would rather be British. Is that true?

So basically, the British were "squatters" - unintentionally maybe, but squatters nevertheless.
Given that Argentina subsequently became independant from Spain in the early 1800s, it explains their belief that they should still hold the islands. The British claim seems to extend to little more than "well, we didn't know someone else was here when we got here, but we're British so we should still have it anyway".

What is with all the hate for nice guys on the internet? Geez it's like everywhere I go there is a nice guy complaining how he can鈥檛 get a girlfriend because American woman are evil and only date guys that treat girls badly.
I鈥檓 from Oz but I spent most of me life in New Zealand and I like being nice to girls. The blokes who treat girls like dirt are wankers and I stand up for a girl if I see this happening. I have only had 3 girlfriends but they all liked me for being a nice guy.
The girlfriend and I got engaged last week and she loves me because I am nice and funny and I take her out all the time to fun places and I am always there to support her and defend her. She says I am a top bloke, a good fella and a good guy.

Hi guys. I'm 13( turning 14 in a month). Since the early days of my childhood not like others I wasn't scared of blood. In fact I actually liked it. Windows 7 is not loading Google?
I recently purchased a HP laptop with Windows 7 installed. For the first few days, it was working perfectly fine. But just recently, Google won't load. No matter which browser I use (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.), the same issue comes up. It basically says that the website cannot be loaded. Every site I've gone to works perfectly, besides Google. I'm pretty sure it's not my internet, because there are several other computers in my home connected on the same wi-fi signal, and Google loads just fine. Over 5 years ago I applied for a job and I was told I didn't pass the background check. I was baffled!?
A few weeks later I received a letter from the company that performs the checks and it stated that I have a warrant out for my arrest in another county within the state. It showed it was a shoplifting charge. The letter stated that no identification was available from the person. I went onto the internet and looked it up in the court records and it shows a failure to appear in court for the charge. First of all, I don't shoplift! Second, I wasn't even living in the same state when the crime occured. I have several more details that I have discovered from the letter and online.

I have been told the only way to remedy this is to go to the city where the crime happened and turn myself in and go from there! THIS IS NOT AN OPTION! Okay so this is going to be very interesting to you strangers. This guy I've known since I was 14 has been away for three years and now he's finally home and I'm three months from being 18. He is currently 21 and is very afraid of meeting me because he believes that he'll go to jail. We met once when I was 14 and the remainder of the relationship has been through the phone and internet (which I'm not proud of). Since he's home from his traveling, I want to meet him in person but he thinks that he is going to get in trouble for doing that.
All I want is to meet him somewhere public (like the mall) with a small group of my friends for less than two hours. He doesn't agree, and wants to wait until I'm 18.

So this is happening since yesturday night
so firstly when i restarted my laptop after watching some vids on Youtube,then i clicked on internet explorer and it opened and was loading to go to google.but insted of going to the home page in 5 seconds like usual it kept on loading .
when it finally went to the homepage after i restarted my computer again
scaned for viruses,it didnt want to open any link.
then after a few hours everything started working normally after i did system restore.
Now if i open a page ,lets say go to youtube to watch a vid and then open a second page it stops working its starts loading and never gets to the page.
what has happened?

It's pretty good, 8gb RAM, 1gb graphics card, however I feel like the i3 processor is dampening it's true power. I would like to upgrade it (I use it for games, and it can sometimes be a little disappointing) to an i5 processor.
This is a big leap, and they cost a fair bit, so I don't want to make any foolish mistakes.
Is there a certain type I would need?
What are the risks?
Is it actually worth it?
(What else would you recommend?)

You can't upgrade the CPU or video subsystem in most laptops.
Even if you could, the labor cost to do so would make it not worth the price.Questions about computer hardware...?
Changing the CPU on a laptop is extremely difficult, and sometimes impossible, because laptops tend to use non-standard fittings and connectors for things.
Look up processor-changing info for your specific model to see if it's even possible before you proceed.
If it is possible, there is a very good chance you will have to entirely dismantle the machine in order to reach the CPU socket.
I should also point out that most games are almost entirely graphics-card dependant, and you hardly notice any performance boost with a CPU upgrade.
Most laptops perform poorly in games because their graphics cards have safety limits imposed on them to keep them from getting too hot/drawing too much power (both of which are very bad things for laptops!) Therefor I'd recommend you go into your general Windows power settings and the settings for your graphics card and see if you can't disable some of those safeties. That's probably the best way to boost your performance.
Just be forwarned: if you do fiddle with the power/temperature limits then be prepared for a very hot machine (you may have to buy a cooling pad to help deal with the excess heat) and a huge drain on your battery.

You can't upgrade the CPU or video subsystem in most laptops.

Changing the CPU on a laptop is extremely difficult, and sometimes impossible, because laptops tend to use non-standard fittings and connectors for things.
Look up processor-changing info for your specific model to see if it's even possible before you proceed.
If it is possible, there is a very good chance you will have to entirely dismantle the machine in order to reach the CPU socket.
I should also point out that most games are almost entirely graphics-card dependant, and you hardly notice any performance boost with a CPU upgrade.
Most laptops perform poorly in games because their graphics cards have safety limits imposed on them to keep them from getting too hot/drawing too much power (both of which are very bad things for laptops!) Therefor I'd recommend you go into your general Windows power settings and the settings for your graphics card and see if you can't disable some of those safeties. That's probably the best way to boost your performance.
Just be forwarned: if you do fiddle with the power/temperature limits then be prepared for a very hot machine (you may have to buy a cooling pad to help deal with the excess heat) and a huge drain on your battery.
What would cause wireless internet speed to drop?
It drops from 54Mbps to as low as 11Mbps. Signal is good from router. Have a desktop going straight to the modem, a laptop and xbox live going off of the wireless router. If i restart my laptop, sometimes it will go back up to 54, sometimes not. Would using the laptop and xboxlive at the same time make it drop?What would cause wireless internet speed to drop?

Is my school up to something? Should I consult a loyar?
I have a friend in school who's told me things. She told me there's certain things she can't tell me, so when I asked, she told me she'd get expelled if she said anything. She told me once that she was abused badly, then warned me not to say anything or again, she'd get expelled. I won't get into too much detail seeing how powerful the internet is in the hands of nosy experts.
Besides the fact that she had experiences that would make you puke, should I be worried? She seems okay when I talk to her, we have fun conversations and she laughs with friends and stuff so I'm not too worried, but if her rights are being violated I'd like to know. Should I talk to the counselor about it or consult a lawyer or what? Cause now I'm worried.Is my school up to something? Should I consult a loyar?

It's "lawyer". Obviously, one thing that we know your school isn't up to is teaching its students proper spelling.
I wouldn't consult a lawyer since 1) You're a kid so you can't afford one 2) Your parents would have to start any legal action and 3) You have no evidence, just your friends unsupported claims.
Teenagers make up things all the time. I see no reason to think your friend is telilng the truth.the game of life online little ceasars

Wireless network adaptor?
the internet wifi on my laptop just broke so i need to buy wireless usb network adaptor, i watch alot of videos online and download stuff quite alot, so i was wondering what transfer speed would be enough for this, i was looking at the netgear n150 which has 150mbps transfer speed im not sure if this will be enough the next model up is the netgear n300 which is double the price but has double the speed. what would you suggest? my current laptop is a hp g56-130sa and im not sure what speed the internet wifi had but that seemed fine.
My computer wont boot up right i dont know how to fix it or what caused it ?
OK i logged on to my computer one day and i see an icon on my homescreen the icon was internet securty my computer was acting really slow so i shut it down then i turne it back on it said sorry for the inconvince and gave me 4 or 5 options start up windows normally, last successful boot or something, safe mode with control pannel, safe mode, and safe mome with something else. I tried every single one of them and all of them went back to the same thing is there anyway i can fix this and what caused it? The only thing i downloaded was Microsoft 2012 Trial would that have done anything?My computer wont boot up right i dont know how to fix it or what caused it ?
Sounds like u need to do a system restore. insert the cd for ur OS and look for that option.
Use your OS CD to fixboot ( repair directory %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; type fixboot exe ) or repair your OS.
Boot from OS CD %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; Go to bios %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; boot priority %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; select CD or DVDMy computer wont boot up right i dont know how to fix it or what caused it ?
Sounds like you may have gotten some malware on your computer. Quick and easy - do a system restore with the provided OS disk. Or you can try to boot the computer in safe mode and run malware bytes off a flash drive or try and install it to see if you can remove it.

Unless you downloaded from the Microsoft site direct, you probably downloaded an illegal and infected copy. The Internet Security popup was probably a false or rogue anti-virus. These are generally a serious spyware infection and should be dealt with IMMEDIATELY. What you should have done was downloaded the free scanner from http://malwarebytes.org and run the full scan. Always FIX the problem first or anything else you do just makes it worse. Since it probably came from your download and install instruction, it would have got a real hold on the machine. Your only option now is to run a repair re-install fro your recovery disk or OS disk that came with the machine. If you did not get one with the machine it will be the disk you created when it instructed you to make a recovery disk set when you first ran it. If you did not do this, you need to buy the recovery set from the manufacturer. If the repair re-install does not work you would need to run the FULL install, this will lose all your files and programs.
Even after this, there is no guarantee the infection is gone, the files will still lie dormant on the machine waiting to activate. So you MUST then do the Malwarebytes scan.

2 reasons for this
1- Every socket used at the house, even for ADSL must have it's own ADSL filter installed ( including the alarm or Satellite phone connections), No more than 4 handset filters should be used.
2- You line has too much noise on it, that when the phone is picked up, the line drops to a very poor quality hence losing your ADSL link.
Check the Sync light on the router, does it go off when you pick up the line or when you lose the ADSL link? That shows that the line is being effected, if not, try another router.What can cause my internet conection when......?..?
Some phone is missing a DSL filter, or there is a cordless phone system close to the router, flooding it's signal.What can cause my internet conection when......?..?
Sounds like your wireless phone is interfering. Change the channel on the router.

Are they cordless phones ? are you using wi-fi at your home?
If yes to the both of these, this could be causing the issue. Cordless phones could cause issues with your wireless network if they are in the same levels of frequency, usually 2.4Ghz.
I would suggest purchasing new cordless phones that are on a different frequency.
