I need help remembering a book...?

I read a book a while back and I can't remember the title for the life of me! Please please help before I go insane...



-I think it took place at a school for gifted children.

-A boy attempts suicide by slitting his wrists.

-They have a test to get into the school. The boy is such a genius that he does the easy problems while solving the harder problems at the same time. He is really upset that he does not finish the test, but apparently the test is impossible to finish in the time allotted. He did better than anyone.

-The school, for whatever reason, wants to experiment with brains, and not just any sort of brains, these genius kids' brains.

-They take some willing kids. They stage different deaths for them. Then they keep their brains.

-They really want one girl for some reason. But she does not want any part of it. However, they take her against her will.

-The brains are connected to computers. So they are able to download information.

-The girl is really pissed off that they did what they did. She has a tantrum...if you can imagine that with just a brain...she is so furious that she downloads a bunch of information...way more than any brain has done

-The school's experiment backfires because the girl becomes mad with power and basically takes over the internet

-The boy she likes, who liked her initially, I think, starts to get freaked out.

-At the end, his mom buys him a computer, but the girl shows up on it. And I believe he turned it off.



I might have gotten some of the facts mixed up, but this is the gist of it. Google has been absolutely no help...and I tried to look through the library catalog, but that proved to be really impractical.
