What is the fastest internet connection you can have with a wireless router using AT&T?

I have AT%26amp;T and am using a Wireless G Broadband Router. What is the fastest internet possible with this setup? What is the fastest internet available period? What is the fastest internet connection you can have with a wireless router using AT%26amp;T?
For this answer, you will need to call AT%26amp;T.

AT%26amp;T has several speeds from 768 KB/s to 5 MB/s and each speed has it's own cost.

Here are mitigating factor:

Age of phone lines

Age of indoor phone lines

Capability of PC/Laptop

NIC Card

Wireless Card

Distance from AT%26amp;T site

The further you are from the nearest AT%26amp;T site, the slower the speed. This is also true with phone lines outside and inside the home. If your lines are more than 10 years old, this will reduce speed. Fiber Optics will increase speed, but only if it's available in your area.

For an example, where I live, the Telephone Lines on the Poles were installed 10 years ago or so. Despite I live within the 5 Mile Radius to get high speed Internet, AT%26amp;T can only give me the 768 KB/s speed because of the age of the outdoor phone lines.

A 10/100 or better (10/100/1000) NIC card will give better speeds, especially if they are newer than 2005. Wireless Cards will depend on which type you purchased. Some are better than others.

You computer can also delay speeds depending on the Bus throughput. This is affected on how fast your web browser can load.
