Someone picks up and answers the house phone. I cant get a stable connection while someone is using the phone. What can be the cause of this.What can cause my internet conection when......?..?

1- Every socket used at the house, even for ADSL must have it's own ADSL filter installed ( including the alarm or Satellite phone connections), No more than 4 handset filters should be used.



2- You line has too much noise on it, that when the phone is picked up, the line drops to a very poor quality hence losing your ADSL link.



Check the Sync light on the router, does it go off when you pick up the line or when you lose the ADSL link? That shows that the line is being effected, if not, try another router.What can cause my internet conection when......?..?

well there are a few questions to be asked here.

Are they cordless phones ? are you using wi-fi at your home?

If yes to the both of these, this could be causing the issue. Cordless phones could cause issues with your wireless network if they are in the same levels of frequency, usually 2.4Ghz.

I would suggest purchasing new cordless phones that are on a different frequency.
Some phone is missing a DSL filter, or there is a cordless phone system close to the router, flooding it's signal.

Someone saw my friend's face on Omegle?

I was warning my friends not to go on www.omegle.com, because it is unsafe, but one friend actually went on it and clicked the link...she accidentally clicked video, and she saw a man, and the man pointed at the webcam. She didn't know that her webcam was on.. she is really worried now about the consequences of it and I feel like its all my fault for warning her not to go on it from the beginning...



So the questions that she wants to get cleared up are:

Can people stalk you on Omegle?

Can people track down your iP address?

If you go on video and see someone else, what is the possiblity that they can stalk you and track your IP address down??

There's not too much of a chance that they can find her on Omegle. Since Omegle is an anonymous chat, you do not have access to the person's IP address for one. Also, even if they saw your friend for a moment, the chances of them finding her are small, simply because the amount of time they wee on camera probably wasn't enough to get a reall good look at them.Someone saw my friend's face on Omegle?
Omegle is an anonymous website, so it would be impossible for anyone to stalk or track you down by your IP address. Besides, it was probably for such a short time that it wouldn't matter.

I personally don't like the video part of Omegle, that's why I'm careful only to click text.

It's when people get suicide happy, and are willing to kill themselves if they cant be with the person they love.



Prevention would be found by taking a relationship slow, being careful, and not getting into a whirlwind relationship that you cant control.

You are looking in the wrong area to get faster internet. There are so many factors that affect your speed on the internet it is not even funny. One factor being the health of your pc and how well it runs. Another being your isp and the speed it offers. You will never get more speed then your isp allows you. Check there and see what speed you are supposed to get and then go to www.speedtest.net and check to see if that is what you are getting. Report back your speed you are getting and the speed you are supposed to be getting. Also give the specs on your pc.

Internet explorer- download POP UP, help!!!?

So my mom just got a new computer and the internet was working perfectly fine (useing internet explorer) ( i have yet to download any firefox or something of the sort) any ways, after closeing out of her first use, she later went to get on by clicking the icon, the screen pops up like it normaly would white (as if it were loading her home page) but litteraly less then a second later it goes away and in it's place is a windown to view and track downlaods, i recongnize this list of down loads from useing computers and downloading things however, she is not downladoing any thing at the moment. the only thing on the list is getpagemodel from google.com (which is her her home page, i dont know if that matters) either way... it gives me the option to save and save as, not even open, i have no idea what it is, when i clicked to save it ( its just a long code), ive removed it and closed the window only to have the same proplem repeat, adding more and more getpagemodels on the list... has this happened to anyone? does anyone know what to do?Internet explorer- download POP UP, help!!!?
Sounds strange, i honestly don't know, but what you could do is download the google chrome installer and move it to a usb key, then run it on your mom's computer.

What is wrong with my internet?

I have tried doing this for half a year since it broke or messed up. I'm trying to port forward for a game but it just wont work. i have succesufly done this before but for some reason it wont work any more and i dont remember what i did to break it. I have my desktop pc wired to my router and my router is up to my modem. I turned off my firewall from my main pc and on my laptop that im forwarding the port to and i still dont get the port forwarded. I have a westell router that i got from my ISP because my other linksys burnt out. and i have a netgear wnr2000v2. I also port forwarded for my pc on my friend's router and it worked. any suggestions?What is wrong with my internet?

Did you try portforward website?

Normally it's very helpful and they have most of the routers then with tutorials how to forward!

Just go to the site, check your route (or the most similar possible) and then pick an application (doesn't matter which).

I have a friend in school who's told me things. She told me there's certain things she can't tell me, so when I asked, she told me she'd get expelled if she said anything. She told me once that she was abused badly, then warned me not to say anything or again, she'd get expelled. I won't get into too much detail seeing how powerful the internet is in the hands of nosy experts.



Besides the fact that she had experiences that would make you puke, should I be worried? She seems okay when I talk to her, we have fun conversations and she laughs with friends and stuff so I'm not too worried, but if her rights are being violated I'd like to know. It's "lawyer". Obviously, one thing that we know your school isn't up to is teaching its students proper spelling.





I wouldn't consult a lawyer since 1) You're a kid so you can't afford one 2) Your parents would have to start any legal action and 3) You have no evidence, just your friends unsupported claims.



Teenagers make up things all the time. I see no reason to think your friend is telilng the truth.
